Why I Became A CMT

So I was born in Korea, and moved to Berkeley when I was almost 3. I grew up in the East Bay, where I graduated from California State Hayward University in 2001 with a BS degree in Criminal Justice Administration. While in college I worked as a manager and assistant manager for different pizza restaurants, and study, Psychology, Business and finally settled on Criminal Justice. Once I graduated, I decided to take some time off and to find myself, and started to study Buddhism, Hinduism, and other spiritual aspects in my life.

During this time, I became aware that  I wanted to help others, with their struggles in life, I also started to explore my love for cooking and baking. As a poor individual I taught my self how to make candy, and chocolates, and expanded on things that I could make with food. I also, grew spiritually and learned how much I loved the simple things in life, such as massage, and good food. I decide to help individuals with addiction and mental illness, but found that working with the government and individuals that really did not want to change was causing me great stress, and I found that I was not happy with my life, and felt very dissatisfied with myself, and had some self esteem issues, causing me to feel depressed and separated from the the real world. I found myself daydreaming more and more, and not wanting to do anything. I was missing something from my life. After may hours of sleepless nights, and flailing health, I decided that something had to change. So I thought about what I could do to help people feel better, and be happy at the sometime, so I decided to go to massage school, and see if that would help me feel better since my doctors were worried about my stress level and were always telling me to relax and that massage would help me relax.

So here I am 2016 just turned 44 with no carrier, 3 heart attacks, and ulcer, I made that move and enrolled at NHI Massage School. This was a turning point in my life, I was taught different types of massages, the importance of getting a massage and the health benefits. Although I can't cure an individual or diagnoses an individual, I can help them recover from injury, stress, and other aliments. As a CMT I offer a high quality massage, using different techniques, and styles from Shiatsu, Deep Tissue, and Swedish. I have learned how to help individuals that suffer from PTSD, to relax and trust someone touching them again or anybody with a traumatic experience in their life. Also I can help people relax more, relieve tension, and get in touch with how they are feeling.

I only offer the best professional massage I can, and will not except anything less and neither should you. I may not be the best Massage Therapist for you, but if I am not there is someone out there that is.

All the Best and Namaste
